Swiss photographer Pit Buehler’s exhibition will be opened in the gallery of “Leningrad Center” from October 22 to November 22, 2016.
Uma Thurman, Cate Blanchett, Jeremy Irons and Christoph Waltz – the portraits of these Hollywood stars along with other celebrities’ pictures are now exhibited at the gallery of “Leningrad Center”. The exhibition occupies three halls and includes almost 40 portraits shot by Swiss photographer Pit Buehler at different times.
The author describes the concept of his works as fairy simple: “Portraits of the entertainment genre masters – theatre, circus, movies – those who give spectators a chance to plunge into another, illusionary world at least for a short time”.
Pit Buehler was born in 1972 in Zug, Switzerland. After graduating from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Central Switzerland, he followed a personal invitation from Professor Helfried Strauss to be guest of the master class of photography at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig. Buehler is regularly realizing photo projects for national and international exhibitions. His work has been widely recognized with international awards, publications and exhibitions. In his art work, Buehler focuses of Portrait and People. He has traveled across more than 90 countries to photograph faces of our time. His protagonists are strong or delicate, broken or dynamic. With great virtuosity, Buehler stages the subjects while managing his technical equipment with an ultimate perfection as he worked with brush and easel.
