The biggest frozen figure this year is a pirate ship reaching up to 7 metres in height.
A spectacular frozen exhibition "ICE fantasy" is held in the Peter and Paul Fortress up until the end of January. On the Naryshkin Bastion’s territory is a gallery of 60 statues, the freezing fun creation which took 170 tons of ice. The exposition is located in a huge tent where the temperature is maintained by powerful refrigeration units.
At the Festival the guests can see the heroes of Russian folk tales and literature, including fairy tales of Pushkin, Hans Christian Andersen, Charles Perrault, as well as cartoon characters and blockbusters. The biggest sculpture this year is a pirate ship reaching up to 7 metres in height.
The Ice Sculpture Festival is a spectacular event for young and old. For example, the adults can be attracted to a large-scale composition depicting the Battle on the Ice, also known as the Battle of Lake Peipus.
In a darkened space of the tent all of the ice compositions are highlighted.
Ice Sculpture Festival is open until 29 January 2017 every day from 10.00 to 22.00.
