VII International Festival of Arts "Diaghilev. P.S."
A key cultural event in the city will take place on November from 18 to 26, 2016.
This season the program portends to be rich in events and emotions. The official opening of the Festival will be held on November 20 by the performances of the Béjart Ballet Lausanne. One of the greatest choreographers of the XX century, a follower of Russian Ballet will present “Anima Blues”, “Etude for the Lady of the Camellias” and “The Miraculous Mandarin” on the stage of the Tovstonogov Bolshoi Drama Theatre.
The Baltic Dance Theatre (Gdansk) will show ballet stagings “Phaedra”, “Death and the Maiden”, “Tristan and Isolde” at the Alexandrinsky Theatre. The Perm Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre and its conductor Teodor Currentzis will bring Prokofiev’s "Romeo and Juliet" on the stage of the Grand Hall of St. Petersburg Philharmonia.
Also within the frames of the Festival of Arts "Diaghilev. P.S." a series of exhibitions will be opened, which will enrich the cultural life of St. Petersburg. KGallery will present an photo exposition by François Paolini “Chorégraphismes” dedicated to the Béjart Ballet Lausanne. The exhibition will include 30 photographs of the various ballets staged by one of the greatest choreographers of the XX century Maurice Bejart. Temporary exhibitions also will be opened in The Sheremetev Palace, the State Hermitage and the Samoilov Family Museum.
